Co-Founder and executive DIRECTOR of SAATH
Divya Maiya is a Minneapolis-based South Asian performing artist, choreographer, playwright, director, and the Executive and Co-artistic Director of SAATH – South Asian Arts & Theater House. A co-founder of SAATH, Divya has led the creation of bold, community-centered productions exploring identity, mental health, gender, queerness, domestic violence, neurodivergence, and immigrant experiences. Her work includes acclaimed SAATH productions such as Bezubaan, Desi Heart Crust, 2 Suitcases, Karma – A Bollywood Circus, AKS, Log Kya Kahenge, and Manasu – Echoes of the Mind. Under her artistic leadership, SAATH has built a vibrant platform for South Asian diaspora storytelling in Minnesota, with sold-out performances, Fringe Festival success, and collaborations with organizations including Exposed Brick Theatre, Lyric Arts, and other Twin Cities arts partners.
Mission: SAATH celebrates cultural diversity and social harmony in the community through the joyful medium of dance, performing arts, and related South Asian cultural traditions.
